For our last breakfast I went for the avocado 🥑 and carrot 🥕 lox on sourdough. The portion of avocado was very generous and it was nicely seasoned. The carrots had been nicely marinated and were a great addition to the dish.

I'm not usually one for meringue but I thought I'd give it a go. The meringues were lovely and light, the rose cream was a delight! The sesame brittle was chewy and slightly savoury. I don't think I've had pomegranate molasses before but they were sweet and brought a real zing to the dish.

It was a rainy day 🌧️ so I decided to have this comforting dish. The suet pastry was thick with lovely cooked mushrooms 🍄 inside. The crushed potatoes were lovely and garlicky. The beetroot was nicely pickled but a bit too large for me and I struggled to finish it.

You can't go wrong with an STP! Rich and decadent with a thick syrupy sauce. You definitely need the ice cream to cut through the richness. The only negative was that it hadn't been cooked in the traditional pudding basin shape.

This was my spouse's second meal. The batter was crispy on the banana blossom and seasoned with nori but the blossom itself was a bit bland. The tartare sauce had added garlic 🧄 and coriander which I think was trying too hard and overcomplicating it. The chips also appeared to have some sort of drizzle on them which at first looked like balsamic vinegar but when we ate them tasted like marmite, so I'm not sure what was going on there! Their favourite part was the chilli and lime peas.

I love a good caramel layer! This was creamy and rich with a lovely crumbly chocolate 🍫 base. Great for an afternoon treat.

I loved this dish! The slaw was crunchy, the gochujang sauce gave it a great kick. The edamame beans 🫛 added to the protein as well. I chose plant chicken with this rather than the tofu as I wasn't impressed with that in a previous dish. It was filling and healthy after a long day walking in the Dales.

I went for the full English on our first morning as we had planned a lot of walking for the day. The sausages were great and the hash browns crispy. I loved that the beans were in a separate ramekin. The only disappointment was the tofu scramble, it wasn't the warmest and it was quite hard, I think they used the Tofoo brand which is extra firm. Whereas I usually use a mix of firm and silken tofu to make my scrambles at home. They also had a buffet of fresh pastries, toast and cereals to help yourself to as well as ordering a dish from the menu.

For our first breakfast my spouse opted for the fluffy pancakes. They asked for the oat yogurt to be omitted. A generous portion of berry compote 🍓🫐 and agave syrup topped these pancakes 🥞 which were definitely a treat for breakfast! They also had a buffet of fresh pastries, toast and cereals to help yourself to as well as ordering a dish from the menu.

My spouse has this for dinner on our first night. We've had juicy marbles before so they knew they'd enjoy that. They thought the onion in the onion ring was a bit hard and the peppercorn sauce a bit thin, but other than that a lovely meal.

A lovely white bean hummus with giant caper berries on top. The bread was warm, but I always find with hummus I need a couple more pieces so I ended up eating the last of the hummus with a spoon!

I wasn't very hungry the first night we arrived at Beck Hall for our stay in the Yorkshire Dales so I had a couple of their small plates. The flavour of this dish was great but the tofu wasn't crispy and could have been fried a bit more.
