Just what you’d want in a mac and cheese from a vegan soul food restaurant. Perfectly cooked pasta with a wonderfully creamy cheese sauce that had just the right hint of spicy to add another layer of flavor. Classic vegan comfort food done right!

What better name for a vegan soul food restaurant than A Peace of Soul? This sandwich is amazing! Just the right amount of spicy to give it a little kick, the huge, perfectly breaded chick’n is joined inside a pretzel bun by lettuce and tomato. I opted for the combo with two sides, and both the collard greens and the rice and beans were delicious! And to top off the experience all the staff were absolutely fantastic!

First, I have to say that A Peace of Soul is a great name for a vegan food truck that serves soul food! This sandwich was delicious…a huge piece of fried veg chicken coated with BBQ sauce that was a nice blend of smoky and sweet flavors, topped with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and veg cheese on a big pretzel roll. But be warned…unless you’re part snake and can dislocate your jaws you probably won’t be able to bite it as you would most sandwiches. Keep some napkins handy. 😊 I opted for collard greens and beans and rice for sides, and they were both perfect. And to top it off the people are great, too!

I’d heard good things about A Peace of Soul but what I had heard didn’t do it justice. I found their food truck at Asheville VeganFest and the long line was a good clue that the food would be great. The Nashville Hot Crispy Fried “Chicken” sandwich doesn’t disappoint. Just the right amount of spicy…very flavorful. I added sides of collard greens along with beans and rice. Super nice staff to boot, but no surprise that food based in kindness would be served up by kind people. 🙂 Highly recommended!

They do no wrong, for real. Texture on point; sides 1000%. The Nashville chicken sauce was a little sweeter than I thought it would be (but I’ve never had ‘Nashville hot’ anything before) still great with the salt of the bun, etc. *Picture is from their truck who does pop-ups occasionally at different locations in SC :)
