I’m a big fan of Tofutti Better than Cream Cheese spread which I love putting
on my bagels. But not all Tofutti products are as good… I recently tried their whipped cream cheese which was pretty disappointing.
The Tofutti ricotta looks amazing when I melt and bake it on my pizza. It looks even better than the Miyoko's Creamery cashew cheese products which is nuts 🤣 but it tastes like melted plastic with a really artificial taste to it. Nothing like ricotta. I even tried blending in some herbs and whipping it with a tiny splash soy milk, which does wonders in terms of making the cheese look just like ricotta when it melts, but the taste and mouthfeel really don’t improve.
Another thing, the 2nd ingredient in this product is palm oil, which is the 2nd largest cause of deforestation after animal agriculture. You can do better as a vegan brand!
