Prosciutto

Got very excited when I saw this at Whole foods. Got even more excited when I saw it was made in Italy because the two vegan prosciuttos I tried in Italy ( by the brands Valsoia #valsoia and Liveg #liveg ) were both delicious. These slices looked very similar to those, but the smell was more powerful and almost a bit distracting. The flavor was quite similar, but perhaps less strong. The consistency was also the same - tender and very meat-like. When I warmed them up in the pan for 30 seconds they didn’t fall apart and the flavor became a bit stronger. High in protein. Price was around $6 at Whole foods and the package is only 71 grams (2.5 oz). Would repurchase, just not often because of the price. They also sell another type of deli slices by the same brand. The packaging says that the product is made in Italy but sliced and packaged in the US so perhaps that’s why it seems different. Btw the picture of the slices is missing three slices that I already took out of the packaging when I took the picture - there should be about 12 in there total.

It looks more like a bresaola than a prosciutto. Taste is ok even if I can’t really say it’s smoked. All natural ingredients. Made in Italy and sliced & packed in USA. Good to make a sandwich. #prosciuttocrudovegan #noartificialflavours

Great option to serve with vegan cheese, a good bread and maybe grapes, nuts, apples. 🤩

Found this at My Organic Market (Mom’s) yesterday and was so excited. After tasting, very very pleased with the delicious taste. Looking forward to getting again and also trying the Carpaccio. Highly recommend this company from Italy.
