I’ve liked everything I’ve tried from Omni so far and definitely wish the brand were more accessible around here. The only product I can reliably find is the luncheon meat, which I can’t bring myself to try. These pork-style #fakemeat strips are an excellent replacement for the small amount of meat commonly found in Chinese stir-fries. #meatalternative So far, I’ve used it in stir-fried rice cakes, as well as tom yum fried rice (apologies for the presentation — they were both meal preps;) I also want to try it in the shredded potato dish (土豆丝) my grandpa used to make. It’s not the meatiest-tasting, but it has a tender texture that makes it satisfying to eat. I personally think you can disregard the “thaw in refrigerator” directions, unless you’re planning to marinate it first — I’ve used it straight from the freezer without issues. #frozen A bit high in sodium but otherwise a fairly healthy option with a good amount of #protein; it is #alliumfree for those who observe, too. It looks like a small package, but it’s pretty compact. There were actually more strips inside than expected, enough to augment 2-3 meals. It was #groceryoutletfinds and is no longer available here, but I would repurchase if I found it again.
