For some reason, I didn’t notice several vegan products in the #jumbo #easter range until the very “last minute” when I was grabbing the last items on the shelf..! I’m always happy to try out these kinds of limited seasonal products from Jumbo, particularly since I’ve been finding their general vegan range quite underwhelming lately. I’m not sure if its ALL Jumbos or perhaps just the one in my little town where I have the sad suspicion we are the only vegan family here 😩 As for the #veganroast : hubby was already making little veggie pies for our Easter dinner so he opted to wrap the roast up in puff pastry rather than following the cooking instructions directly. We were both a little put off by how “meaty” it looked, while reassuring ourselves that the red centre was a result of the #beetroot content and nothing else. Taste/texture-wise, I found it quite “meaty”, too. So it would be great for those who are looking for something like that. As for me? I enjoyed it, but it wasn’t my favourite part of the meal and it’s not something I would like to eat regularly. Which is a good thing since I suppose it won’t be back on the shelves until next Easter in any case!
