This frozen falafel is great because sometimes you just want to heat something up that’s already premade.

It’s been ages since I’ve had falafel, and these falafel balls really bring me back to my youth. First I noticed the slightly crispy outer shell, contrasted with the soft insides. The chickpeas are flavorful and mashed. It’s spiced so well, again calling forth the childhood memories, this time, of falafel flavored snacks. This bag also comes with a frozen tahini packet that you can just thaw in hot water. However, I had forgotten and ended up buying some hummus on sale. Prep here is very easy, as you just need 15 minutes and a lightly oiled frypan, or you could bake them on a lightly oiled sheet, but that would take much longer. Being that this Canadian company has been creating their vegan line since 1980, I’m excited to see the other products they offer. Seems like a happy all around choice! Nutritionally, there are 260 calories in a serving, consisting of 4 falafel balls and 1/3 of the sauce, which is what was able to easily fit into my pita sandwich (you can also check out my review on that), although I did use hummus in place of the tahini sauce. It has 15g of fat, 24g of carbohydrates and 9g of protein. Purchased from ShopRite for $5.49. Day 57/90 #veganisnotscary #falafel #chickpeas #glutenfree #glutenfreevee
These were really easy to prepare— toss in pan with some oil, medium heat, 10-15 minutes, done. While i prefer green falafel as it tends to be more moist, it can be hard to find outside of restaurants. This falafel has a brown exterior but was perfectly satisfying. The only thing that would have made this better would be more falafel in the package. #veganisnotscary
Good falafel is hard to come across… that being said, this was alright. Yes it was frozen so of course there will be flaws, but it was a bit too dry for me and the tahini sauce had a very light flavor. I dunno. #veganisnotscary
Absolutely delicious falafel! I had this in a wrap with veggies and tahini sauce and it was divine! I will say the falafel didn't seem spicy to me but had great flavor!
