CHICK PEAS FROM FREE FARMLANDS 🤔✒Does it make sense to write a review about something as basic as chick peas in jars? Yes, sure. 🌱Chick peas are a staple in the vegan kitchen, and I came across this Italian brand Libera Terra whose chickpeas are not only organic, but also produced on lands that are not controlled by the local mafia. It seems that in Southern Italy, the criminal organisations of the mafia are unfortunately still quite involved in about every possible economic activity. They force entrepreneurs and farmers to share part of their revenues with them, thus funding corruption and criminal activities. The Libera Terra label only works with producers and lands that are kept out of the hands and influence of the mafia. 👌Certainly an issue that we can support as vegans. It is good to keep the mind open for the broader perspective and to consider the vegan cause together with other social and emancipation issues. 👉❌This being said, however, I bought these jars (at 2,45 euros for 300 g on October 27th, 2022) in the OFXAM-Wereldwinkel store in 1000 Brussels, Anspachlaan 160, Boulevard Anspach. You may know or not that OXFAM is unfortunately in no way interested in integrating the vegan issue in their policies. They solely focus on Fair Trade, and are not interested in a fairer world or situation for the animals. The majority of the food products they sell are non-vegan, and some of the handicraft items feature leather. What a pity. But maybe one day, they will change their policy on this. 👍The chick peas are tender, of good quality and only a little bit salted. The brand is definitely to be recommended. Buoni, biologici, barattolo di vetro. Se devo tenere un legume pronto in dispensa, scelgo sempre dei ceci bio e in vetro. Ci ho appena fatto un velocissimo hummus

Quando li trovo li compro sempre molto volentieri, hanno una consistenza più dura degli altri che solitamente acquisto ma non è per forza una nota negativa.

Li apprezzo molto sia per forma e dimensione, sia per il valore sociale.
