Cowabunga has been with us @sunrisesanctuary for a year now. He was purchased as a 4h cow. (4h is horrible and mentally abusive to children imo) Because of covid, they weren't able to carry on that year, and his owner fell in love with him as he stayed at their house. With a promise that they would never purchase another animal for 4h and were no longer involved with the organization, we agreed to take him after a spot opened up. They even still come to visit him regularly.
Cows are hard to place in Ohio. Out of the 6-7 sanctuaries only 3 are set up to take cows and we're all at capacity. With Sunrise's Legacy Fundraiser, we'll be able to expand and take in more big guys like Cowabunga and give them a loving home.🥰
This video was taken a month after his arrival. It was such a gross, rainy day, but our cows LOVE it!

lizmaselli Peta knows. This organization was started way back in 1902. It is a very deep-rooted way of life for those living in rural areas and who farm.Reply
