Why my review scores are so low

Hello aBillioners, this post explains the reasoning behind my review scores, which tend to be low. Previously I’ve been explaining my weird rating system alongside the food/ restaurant reviews. But now I’ll just point to this post.

The reasoning is that aBillion is missing a category that rates the eco-friendliness of product packaging. This needs to be part of the rating system, since there is a world-wide crisis of too much un-recyclable, mostly plastic packaging being produced, that heads to landfills (contributing to methane emissions) or floats its way to the great Pacific Garbage Patch. Part of the vegan movement is addressing our global environmental crisis. Virtually nothing is actually recycled, as many recent articles like the one attached have reported. If you ask me, compostable or zero-packaging bulk stores is the only way to go.

Anyway, here is my weird rating system: I’m repurposing the “Presentation” category to judge the ecological impact of a product’s packaging instead of how nice it looks. (You can click on the star rating of each review 👆to reveal the Presentation category)
⭐️1 star: non-recyclable/ non-compostable packaging
⭐️⭐️2 stars : packaging is recyclable (but not made of recycled materials)
⭐️⭐️⭐️3 stars: package is recyclable and made of recycled materials
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️4 stars: compostable packaging (i.e. plastic free)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️5 stars: compostable and made of recycled materials or no packaging whatsoever (i.e. bulk store)
