I honestly cannot express in one review how much I love this place. Root Candy is genuinely the best vegan restaurant I have ever been to, they're so inventive with their flavours and use of veg and the owner is so lovely as well. She set up shop during the coronavirus pandemic and was operating on takeaway and delivery only to start with, I used to live right around the corner and ordered from here so many times but sadly got so few pics of the delicious food. The service is so fast and friendly and I especially like that they use no meat substitutes, firstly because they show so well how delicious and versatile vegetables are and secondly because I'm allergic to meat substitutes like Quron so I know I can safely eat anything on the menu without awful repercussions from my digestive system hours later. The portions are such good value for money as well. If you're ever in Glasgow I would 100% recommend any items from the menu, especially the popcorn tofu, deep fried tofu noodles, sweet potato tacos (pictured) and lotus biscoff cheesecake.
The sweet potato tacos come with guac, chilli almond salsa, spring onions and feta all cocooned in a soft, corn tortilla. The vegan version obviously doesn't have feta but cheese is my weakness. The flavours and textures work so well together and I can't wait to eat these again 💗
