Stollen

I once spent half a December in Germany, and while my friends were expecting me to return with loads of German sweet wine, it was instead a peculiar form of soft #yeast #bread that had #stollen my heart 😛 This local home #bakery in Malaysia has got some parts of this very right - the candied #orange and #lemon zest, the little pocket of #marzipan just the wrong side of enough, and the sweet dusting on top for visual as much as palatal effect 😉 Yet in one crucial regard it fell short - the texture was much closer to that of Malaysian bread 😬 Anyway RM39 for 350g (as above), and clearly #festive and #seasonal!
