Drenched in dark sauce but thankfully did not taste as intense as it looks. Gets one dimensional after a while though. Comes with 3 sticky sweet balls and a dumpling. Star of the show : slurpilicious soup. Update : Stall has folded (5th Feb 2021)
Had both the soya soup and the dried meesua — i personally preferred soya soup a lot more but they were both good! Pricey for hawker food but overall a very affordable option compared to conventional vegan stores :) worth going to, also in the heart of Bugis!
Not as good as I expected though they use clean ingredients. Didn't expect a dry mee sua to be spicy and sour, which I'm not quite fond of. The spice was more bearable after a while. It had some veggies but not a lot of ingredients. The mock meat balls and dumplings were nice, wish there were more. Soup was delicious. Was given a very dirty spoon at the stall as they give you the utensils , they should be more careful about that. It is a smaller than usual portion as I got hungry after 5 hours and it's overpriced at $6.80. It's nice that this stall is vegan and makes their meals healthy. They need bigger portions though.
This was much spicier than expected (I don't think it was labelled as spicy?) and I think I would've liked it if it was more savoury / sweet! But still an interesting sauce that differs quite a bit from others and there were lots of vegetables! Also loved the meatball-ish thing that was v chewy and flavourful and not grainy.
Enjoyed this thoroughly. Truly vegetarian is a lovely vegan stall in the food court in Bugis Junction, just a short walk from the national library. Prices are reasonable and food is shiok. They even list the ingredients (pictured). reckon I’ll be back again. For sure.
