shaak of the day

This curry was too spicy for our taste but it was the only gluten free item on the menu. They offered a big variety of entirely-vegan items but we would have liked to see more GF options! It would also be great if they told you how spicy menu items were.

this was the perfect #comfortfood after walking around in the cold all day. the #curry was warm and filling and all the #chutneys were tasty except the green one. the owner said she didn't use fresh coriander in the dishes but it is in the green (mint?) chutney. she said she didn't use it much because so many people are there who believe life is #betterwithoutcoriander it's a charming restaurant. if i ever return to oxford, i would try it again. you have your choice of rice or chapati. i had read about their all-you-can-eat thali but saw it was 25£ and decided not to go but then i happened to pass by and saw vegan so went in to check out their menu and found the prices reasonable. #supportlocal #supportsmallbusiness #familyowned
