A friend recently treated me to lunch at Jenna’s, a fabulously casual-chic vegan eaterie on Regent Road in Sea Point — and what a treat it was! Firstly, I was struck by the gorgeous styling of the place, which is elegant and original with an emphasis on light colours and warm textures, and by the beautiful contemporary paintings on the walls. (I’ll post some pictures of the interiors next time, as I’ll definitely be returning.) We sat at a sunshine table in the window and I copycatted my amiga, who is a regular at Jenna’s and orders this miso mushroom dish often.
Well oh well, what a scrumptious and satisfying meal it turned out to be. Beautifully presented and maximally flavoursome. The mushrooms were rich and creamy, and the polenta fries were crunchy and super fresh. I paired mine with a crisp Chardonnay, which was perfect! I’m looking forward to returning soon to try out some of the other offerings on the plentiful vegan menu and can’t recommend the place highly enough.
We had the pleasure of meeting the owner and she is a true innovator with lots of fresh ideas lined up to activate the space, like yoga classes and special events, so check it out as a happening creative community space in Sea Point too.
