Matcha Latte

Le Labo cafe is inside their Kyoto store location. When I visited I had to queue because I also wanted to shop at the store, but I believe if you just want to go to the cafe you don’t have to. Le Labo is a perfume brand that takes pride in stating all their perfumes are vegan and that they believe “they should be tested on New Yorkers rather than on animals”. But I was so surprised to see that their vegan approach extends also to their cafe: all the products were vegan, from the drinks to the pastries. There were also no additional fees for plant based milk (very rare in Japan). What’s more is that this was probably the best iced matcha latte I had during my trip: the perfect mix of umami and sweetness with very little bitterness.
