💲This is not a bad alternative for those wanting to have a vegan meal, that is filling, and at a more value for money option. 🍜I'd say pretty reminiscent of Ban Mian I recall eating long ago. 🙂Not too salty and oily considering the price point too. 🌶️Give it a try if you're looking for a more affordable option in Orchard! #vegannoodles #whatveganseat #veganinsingapore #sgvegan #sgfoodie #sgfood
You can choose if you want your noodles in soup, or dried like this (soup on the side). You can also specify if you’d like it spicy or not (they’ll ask): the chilli sauce is quite tasty and worth considering. The noodles were springy and tasty. comes with some greens (not much), a bit of veggie mince and some pieces of crispy mushrooms, and a fried piece of wanton skin, which added a nice crunch to the dish. The seaweed soup that came on the side was also really tasty. I believe the dish is automatically vegan-friendly, but i specified anyway that i didnt want any egg etc, just in case. Places like this really need to be supported and celebrated, especially since there aren’t enough vegetarian places in the Orchard Area. Midway between Orchard Train Station and the Botanic Gardens. 5th floor of the Far East Shopping centre. They sit near the lifts, stairs and the escalators. There is limited seating inside the shop, and they get quite crowded during the lunch rush. I felt i had to rush my meal to allow others a seat instead of enjoying my lunch with a book etc, but i’m sure that pressure is all self-imposed. In any case you can also opt to take away your meal if it’s too crowded. Service is pretty fast and food here is fairly reasonably priced, especially round these parts: a bowl of noodles set me back 6 sgd. friendly folks running the place. #OrchardRoad #banmian #noodle #veganinsingapore
omg 💯 for everything in this store!!! damn cheap (considering it's in Orchard) and yumz HIGHLY REC
Hidden gem right in the middle of Orchard! Located on the 5th floor of Far East Shopping Center. There’s a good range of affordable noodle dishes here at Kang Su Vegetarian! First time here so I decided to go with the dry ban mian. Love the texture of the noodles! Served with seaweed soup on the side. Good size portion. A bit too much sauce for a dry ban mian. Ingredients were generous too! Would definitely return! Price: $5.50
The first time I tried this dish with #chilli, for some reason, it tasted so good even though I could not handle that level of spice. However, when I subsequently tried this dish multiple times without chilli, the taste just wasn't as nice to me. Personally, I am a fan of appreciating dishes without the need for added spice (unless the spice is an inherent part of the dish), so to me I feel like this dish isn't the best #vegan version of ban mian that I've had. Additionally, I feel like it's not really #banmian because the noodles seem more reminiscent of another type of noodles. The dish came with a small amount of crunchy leafy vegetables, some mock #ikanbilis, and a fried soy-based thing. I guess this is a decent and relatively #affordable option if you're in the #orchard area, and it is unique in terms of their noodles used.
