Combo Plate with Smoked Soy Curls, Smoked Ribs, Hushpuppies, Mac no Cheese & Coleslaw

Stop 3 on our PDX vegan food tour. We got take out, and I ordered two combo plates to get a taste of everything. And it was delicious, everything full of delicious soulful flavors! #veganisnotscary

I feel like Homegrown Smoker has very mixed reviews, this was the first time I’ve ever been here, but I honestly thought it was fantastic. The texture on the ribs was great, the only thing that wasn’t my favorite is the strong steak sauce flavor they had. But other than that, really solid rib. The smoked soy curls were great. Definitely a nice smokey flavor that made it feel more special than if you just made them at home. The coleslaw was good, but nothing much to report. The hush puppies were beautiful and the star of the show was 100% the mac no cheese. Idk what it was about the mac no cheese, but it’s the best vegan mac I’ve personally ever had. I would 100% come back here, it’s a little farther out than I’d normally hang out, but it’s worth it.
