I thoroughly enjoyed this cake. love the combination of dark choc and caramel, and the crumbly biscuit in the base. it wasn’t overly sweet either, just right, and when paired with a coffee was just love.
At time of purchase all their desserts were vegan-friendly: Tide Tables removed all non-vegan items from their cafe and kitchen for #veganuary 🥰. Outside of Jan they still have a healthy range of vegan cakes and sweets.
Richmond isn’t the most vg friendly, so i’m grateful for Tide Tables, vegetarian cafe with an extensive vegan menu. Run by the same folk as HollyHock fairtrade cafe. They serve a whole grange of pasties, pies, vg sausage rolls, other baked goods, some sandwiches/wraps, salads, and hot food as well. They also have a healthy selection of vg cakes and desserts, as well as Smoothies, juices, a range of teas and hot beverages, and vegan wines too. Surcharge for cow’s milk, no extras for plant milks 🤘!
Situated along the Thames foot/bike path, under Richmond Bridge and close to the ferry dock. Great place to stop for a meal/snack/drink while cycling/walking/jogging/rowing along the path/river. Two entrances, one step-free. Large outdoor seating area, and ample space to park and lock your bicycles too.
