Braised Duck Kway Teow

Nested inside a Hawker centre located within Sengkang Grand Mall next to Buangkok MRT is a vegetarian stall which offers very affordable meals. Braised Duck Kway Teow at $4.00. This dish is pleasantly tasty 😋. I am not a fan of Kway Teow, especially those thicker ones. I am very relieved to see slim & thin Kway Teow in the Braised Duck Kway Teow. The portion of the food is smaller, yet, I appreciate the effort to serve delicious food in small portion at an affordable price. I have seen dishes being served a large portion in order to justify the higher price tag. Sometimes, food just become much more expensive & challenging for people who are struggling financially. Their wages aren’t increasing as much as the inflation. Yet, everyone needs to eat food. Pricing low doesn’t mean compromising taste & quality. Origanics seems to be able to balance this very well. I noticed that the gravy given was just enough to cover the noodles. Not too much. I like it this way as I feel it is wasteful to throw away nice gravy when everything else has been eaten. Much effort & ingredients are used to create flavourful gravy & throwing them away just because too much is given feels a little 😢. The smaller portion leaves me some space for a cup of hot soy milk & You Tiao (been craving it for a long time) from the next stall which resulted me over eating. I will be wiser next time! #SGaffordable
