These would get 6/5 stars for taste if it wasn’t for the curds, (they tasted

like the farm boy ones which I’m not a fan of). I just picked them out and next time I’ll ask for no curds because otherwise SOO GOOD!

Simply delicious!! The size of this app was huge! But we still managed to finish

the whole thing! Their homemade kimchi was great, and complemented the fries amazingly! What a combination!

I spent last weekend in the Ottawa area and went out

for dinner at a small restaurant in Gatineau, Quebec. We celebrated my date’s birthday at this restaurant which she had chosen. She’s not vegan and I’m glad to see that my vegan lifestyle has gotten her attention.

We shared 3 appetizers/starters and 1 entrée. This is the third appetizer/starter I’m reviewing. I’ve never had kimchi before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect and whether or not I would like it.

This dish consisted of homemade kimchi (fermented cabbage), vegan cheese curds, Thai chili sauce, vegan mayo, scallions and sesame seeds piled on top of French fries. It was basically kimchi poutine. We absolutely loved this dish. It was full of flavour and something new for both of us. It would’ve been better had the cheese curds been melted and there was a bit of liquid (like gravy) in the bowl. It was still delicious, nonetheless.

The bowl of kimchi fries is the small size for $12. I thought there was more than enough in there to satisfy 2 people.

It was extremely comforting going to a restaurant where 100% of the menu was available to me. I did not have to scour the menu to search for the hard-to-find vegan/vegetarian symbol, or request any modifications to accommodate my vegan lifestyle.

I would very willingly return to this restaurant. When food is this good, who cares if it’s vegan?
