This is a fairly upscale new brunch spot that was participating in the Vegan Chef Challenge. I wasn't too impressed while looking at their online menu. I also thought it was odd that people would pay for broth at a restaurant. @jonok wanted to give them a chance though for their creative challenge dish (review incoming), so we decided to bike down to south Minneapolis via Minnehaha Creek to try it out.
Boy, was I glad we gave them a chance! Even the broth... I get it now. Pretty much everything here is made in-house. The broth is made with mirepoix, herbs, portobello mushroom, beets, and turmeric. This really got me in the mood for soup season. The turmeric gives it a slight earthy spiciness that was so comforting. We were told that this is actually their darkest, most savory broth thanks to the portobello.
