Going strong in my Whole Food Plant-Based No-Oil diet this July, I was craving a tomato sauce that didn’t contain any cane sugar or preservatives in it, and also didn’t use pesky plastic. Here, I found the solution at nearly $10 a bottle 😵💫
This sauce uses monk fruit concentrate for its sweetness, white balsamic vinegar, and organic Australian tomatoes for a sauce that tastes pretty much spot-on with regular cheap ketchup, albeit a little less thick. All within a fully plastic-free bottle! Yay!
The company though is quite… interesting. They’re Australian owned, Beef-Broth wellness gurus who apparently plant a lot of trees and try to offset carbon and this and that and while stating on their website that their philosophy is for “A better and more ethical food system - one that is good for humans and good for the planet. Yes, we want to save the world, and we're doing it one supermarket staple at a time.” … they’re still exploiting animals for their eggs and bones… 🤦♀️
Yes, they seem to be doing a lot of good charity work but then again so does McDonald’s to “offset” their PR soooooo yeah 🤷♀️
