If you're looking to save money, buy 4 lbs. of vital wheat gluten for $25 and make your own meat! @jonok is usually the seitan-maker in our house, but I wanted to try it out for my orange soy marinade kebabs. It was so easy, especially with a stand mixer! I just mixed the gluten and water until it formed a dough. Then I boiled it for about an hour and marinated it for a day. I was super excited to grill it. Since I live in a condo, I visited my mom to use her grill. I'd never really grilled before, so it was fun to learn all the tricks that go along with it. I think the kebabs turned out really great! I would love to make them again. I got the recipe from Miyoko Schinner's Vegan Meat Cookbook.
