Small Hours has a huge variety of tinned seafood. I think it's an odd idea for a wine bar because it really limits proper pairing to white wines. Also tinned fish does not sound very appealing or something you'd buy at a restaurant, but I've never been one to say I know the carnist mind. I was happy to see that they have two vegan options from Seed to Surf. I wanted to try the snow crab made from enoki, but they were out of it so we went with the whitefish made from celeriac.

This vegan whitefish is served with bread and some kind of little bit of kelp or other sea vegetable. The whitefish itself wasn't very flavorful. It was just slightly smokey, oily, and not too fishy. The texture is fairly firm. I thought it'd be able to be torn apart like jackfruit, but it doesn't have that shredded texture. I'm definitely more interested in the snow crab, even just based off the texture. I might get this again here, but they're charging a pretty high price for it at $18.
