We found out about this place on a social media post listing “hidden gems” in the area. This place certainly is.

First of all, it is extremely vegan-friendly. There is a dedicated vegan section on the menu—and many other options throughout the menu are indicated as vegan.

I ordered the Veggie Combo, which included collard greens, lentils, chickpeas, cabbage, beets, and potatoes. The spices were amazing. Every bite burst with strong, unique flavor. And as is the case with all Ethiopian food, it was served with copious amounts of injera bread. Made with a fermented batter of teff flour, water, and yeast, it's known for its unique texture and slightly sour taste. In case you have never had Ethiopian food, you use the bread as your fork. Rip off a small piece and use it to grab a bite-size portion of your food. Everything on the enormous platter was mouth-watering.

I left feeling full and nourished—all for only $11. The service was great. The place itself is fine. The area is a bit rundown, as is the building. The interior is rather nondescript. This is the sort of place you go to simply because the food is downright delicious. And I highly recommend you do.
