
i’ve never actually had nonvegan steak and eggs or even nonvegan country fried steak, so i’ll look at the components individually and then together.
i cannot speak to the realism of the country fried steak. this did not taste exactly like steak, and the texture wasn’t exactly like steak; however, i did enjoy the taste and texture (it was very meaty even if not super realistic). the breading was thick and crispy but had trouble staying on.
the steak went well with the gravy, which was one of the better gravies i’ve had. it was thick, flavorful, and delicious. very well seasoned.
the potatoes were fine but slightly under seasoned and probably cooked a bit too long. similar to the potatoes was the tofu (same seasoning/cooking issue).
i thought the dish came together well and all the separate components were pretty good but not overly impressive. the dish was good as a whole, and i do think it would appeal to classic diner food fans, but i wasn’t super impressed with this.
