Banana Bread al Common Ground — Recensione di sianski (20 gen 2024)

This café is a local favourite.
We arrived shortly before closing time so I missed out on having my banana bread toasted as the kitchen closed.

I wished the staff member hadn’t told me that was their recommended way of serving it because I kept hankering for the toastiness factor 😕
It just means I’ll have to return to sample it that way another time. The cold version was very nice, dense texture, particularly good in the places where the banana had collected in moist clumps. And there were tasty surprises of walnut and veins of chocolate.
I was served a substantial slab of cake which went well with an oat flat white.
Coffee and cake cost £9. Definitely a treat, not for every day.
This café always has several vegan options.
