Review of Build your own BIBIBOP at BIBIBOP Asian Grill by gregcombs
If you’re in Ohio and specifically Columbus, the home of Bibibop, where the first opened in 2013, this bowl is likely a Monday staple, as they have 20% off for #meatlessmonday! As of July 2023, there are 52 in the U.S. For those who don’t know, it’s similar to Chipotle or a build your own, where you go down a line and pick your ingredients of which there are plenty!
Though I miss their wraps, which they discontinued, the bowl is a good portion size in regular or small. You start w a base, which can be rice (white or purple) or salad, or my usual choice of 1/2 super greens and 1/2 japchae (sweet potato noodles). There are various toppings and this bowl has: potato, bean sprouts, broccoli, black beans, tofu, carrot, garlicky kale, kimchi, corn, red cabbage, cucumber, and sesame seeds, and is topped w teriyaki sauce and I add a couple lines of Korean Red for a little spice. It’s a good mix of cooked and fresh ingredients and there are other topping and some premium, such as pineapple for a small up-charge.
The price of the bowl was recently increased by ~$2, so it’s now just over $10 regularly. I got this today on a non-Monday with $5 off due to signing up in the app and they offer addl incentives, such as free drinks for surveys on the back of receipts, points to earn free food, $2 for signing up for texts, etc.
Did I mention 20% off for Meatless Mondays? 😉 Enjoy! ✌🏼
