I just had to find out what was going on with these wundereggs...
So the eggs are meant to resemble hardboiled eggs and they come in halves in a vacuum sealed plastic tray. A bit of black salt is included. Black salt has a bit of sulfur in it and so it is often used to add an eggy flavor.
The egg white is seriously so spot on. As for the egg yolk, I honestly barely noticed it. But in my view, this definitely provides the impression of having a hard boiled egg.
The ingredients arent too outlandish either. Nuts, agar agar, yeast... There's a bit of protein in there and some minerals from the nuts.
I don't think I can justify eating these often because of the plastic packaging. They're also pretty expensive.... I think that a bit of black salt on avocado is probably a better experience. But as a novelty it was amusing.
