Nyom nyom… This might just be the best vegan ice cream in the world — which would explain why you’ll often find a good number of tourists representing nationalities from all around the world in the queue at Kristen's Kickass Ice cream in Cape Town. Don’t be deterred though — these treats are always well worth the short wait.
They’re always wizarding new flavours too, so it’s usually a surprise to discover what heavenly vegan options are on offer. Last time I had vegan Black Forest cake ice cream, which was seriously sublime!
My first job was as an ice cream scooper in a popular mall, and it’s not as easy as it might look. Serious bicep action! So yeah, being kind and tipping big adds to the whole feelgood experience for me.
There’s also a branch of Kristen’s at Constantia Uitsig Wine Estate, in dangerous proximity to Muizenberg, where I live. I don’t know how I resist sometimes…
