Bizarrely, all of the eggplants (all of them!) in the Trader Joe’s produce section this week had noses. Once I managed to stop laughing, I brought one home and turned it into delicious baba ghanoush. This was a decent eggplant — albeit a bit seedy and not organic — and I think it deserves full marks for presentation, because it brightened my day considerably.
