
The OG meat substitute in Australia, this stuff has been around forever. I haven’t bought it in years, but recently grabbed some on special at Coles.
It legit looks like tinned cat food but if you can get past that, it can be pretty tasty with the right seasonings and flavours. I used it tonight (roughly chopped) in a spaghetti bolognese with mushrooms. A little goes a long way, only used half the tin for 4 portions of spag bol. I plan to use the other half a tin for sausage rolls.
Also great that it’s fortified with iron and B12!
