Verduras Fritas Rebozadas En Gofio al El Callao Restaurante — Recensione di Daniel (13 giu 2021)

Finally decided to try this restaurant which has a handful of vegan options. This dish was unique as the veg chunks were coated with gofio, the corn meal typical to many traditional Canary Island dishes. Red, yellow and green peppers, red onion, eggplant, zucchini and mushrooms were coated with a delicate crunchy layer and drizzled with Canarian palm honey (plant-based from local palm tree sap). It was so delicious!!! Not the healthiest option being a fried food, but well worth trying. 7,50€ for a well-sized portion.

A "Callao" is a lava stone that has been rounded and made smooth by the sea - the black beach in view is made of such stones. The restaurant has an interior space and also a seating area on the old dock of the town.
