Chilaquiles con chorizo vegetariano al La Casa del Pan — Recensione di Abi (14 mag 2021)

Not the best chilaquiles but at least I found a vegan place to have a #veganbreakfast
These green chilaquiles are made with blue corn tortilla and tomatillo which is a nice combination however the tomatillo sauce was a bit bitter. On top the vegan chorizo added a nice touch.
You need to ask to remove the cheese then these chilaquiles can be vegan.

A #nerdyfact about tomatillo is a Mexican crop cultivated since pre-Columbian times.
Tomatillo belongs to the genus: Physalis (same genus from the small green and yellow cherry tomatoes from Colombia and Peru).
In Mexico we have at least 20 varieties of tomatillo with husk — that we use mainly to prepare sauces 🤤
