Came here as I wanted noodle soup for dinner and recall they have stewed noodle with vegetables pulled noodles (la mian). Sadly realised that the dish is not vegetarian (it doesn’t have the leaf icon which indicates the dish is vegan/vegetarian. Guessing this means they use meat in their broth).
Well, since the noodles was out, thought I would try the other thing they are famous for – dumplings. I ordered the Steamed Vegetable Dumplings. While the skin was a bit too thick, the filling has a nice texture It has bits of mushrooms and crunchy vegetables and it went well with ginger and black vinegar .
Still, can’t help but wish they have a vegetarian version of their pork soup dumplings. This is where Crystal Jade is a little behind from Din Tai Fung in catering vegetarian dishes. The latter has mushroom dumplings with truffle oil and other rather unique vegetarian offerings such as Tofu with Water Chestnuts & Mushrooms.
