Caravan is a London chain. They crop up in popular places and serve a good range of food and drink with enough vegan choices for us to join the party. The juice selection is great and this particular spinach with a hit of ginger was very tasty. The apple gave a pleasant sweetness and the cucumber rode through the zing of the ginger with a nice clean neutral tone. Pricey at £6.40 but that seems to be the going rate for these powerful juices. #veganinlondon #juice #getyouriron

Another delicious dish I shared at the very pleasant Caravan restaurant in KingsX. #spicedcauliflower was exactly as described. The delicate florets of cauliflower were dressed with a pretty array of colours and flavours: #harissa #tahini #pomegranate #coriander and some unnamed black seeds. It looked like a culinary Mount Vesuvius and certainly carried a fiery bite. There was plenty for two people, costing £9.5 and with a small plate of tofu each we had a beautifully balanced lunch. It’s a large, lively restaurant where you feel you’re right in the midst of the city’s recreational life. This Granary Square location is a nice area for strolling too. This is a lovely way to prepare tofu. All the vibrant tastes stand out spring onion, chilli, sesame. There’s something called ketjap manis which I had to look up. It’s a sweet soy sauce originating in Indonesia. Seriously yum! The block of tofu is tender and coated in this delicious sauce then fresh spinach and coriander leaves are scattered all around. It is served as a small plate at a fairly steep price £9.5 but the quality of preparation and presentation was worth it. Caravan is on the very fancy development behind King’s Cross.
