🇫🇷🎉 We have regular vegan 🌱French patisserie in London now, woo hoo!! Thanks to @koelnerfrau for enticing me here. 123V Bakery is Alexis Gauthier’s new vegan patisserie set in his new all vegan restaurant, Studio Gauthier. This is the more accessible ie cheaper sister restaurant to his very upmarket vegan fine dining place, Gauthier Soho. They are all worth a visit. The bakery and bar are at the front. There are colourful tables out front and a gorgeous outdoor terrace to eat at the back. In the morning there are patisserie. At lunch there are delicious looking sandwiches like crab cake sandwiches and focaccia based 🥪sandwiches along with a 🥗salad bar. At dinner it turns into Studio Gauthier, more fine dining, and you need to book.
Back to the pain aux raisins 🥐which was £2.80. This was very large but slightly off putting to see the white icing bits added on the top. That is not very authentically French. It doesn’t need it and my French partner also didn’t approve. The rest of it is awesome and full of raisins and moist flaky pastry. It would be perfect without the icing as it’s sweet enough.
