RM10 for #homemade emerald #tofu with #purplerice? Sign me right up 🙌 I obviously prefer tofu-maxing by ordering a main plus a 6 piece set of this https://www.abillion.com/dishes/de-grain-vegetarian-cafe-emerald-tofu-set-of-6-10362930 but I was with my brother and he wanted the fried #oystermushroom instead 🍄‍🟫 I love how they mix vegetables into the #beancurd! 🥬 It does come with a plating of seasonal vegetables too, cooked in #ginger 🫚 The store is #alliumfree after all but unfortunately not #eggfree or #dairyfree 🥱 Kuching is just a bit behind the likes of Penang when it comes to their Buddhist or Jain options ✌️ #veganinkuching #bestpicks #tofulover

The #bihun doesn’t look brown to me 🤨 but I trust that it’s #organic — It’s DeGrain after all 🤌 They’ve literally got all the products they use on sale up front 🛒 They seem to be using the same #veganlaksa paste every other decent #sarawak #laksa stall uses, though I do think Hong Kang did it better 👉 https://www.abillion.com/dishes/hong-kang-vegetarian-cafe-laksa-10209435 🍜 This does have far more #tofu and is far larger a portion 🤰 Embarrassing soap gene people beware though, the #evilweed they topped this off was somehow even evil enough to ward me off 😳

How often do you actually get to verify the #noodles they use in store? 🤩 All #organic and beautifully textured #yeemee 🙌 I was hoping they’d have something other than #tomato but alas… 🍅 At least it was great though! Though you are working with a ginormous portion here 😵 In terms of toppings there’s of course tomato, but they’re cool for using cherry tomatoes 🍒 but also there’s a good mix of #mushroom 🍄, cabbage 🚖, carrot 🥕, and choy sum 🥬 No #fakemeat or #protein of any sort as far as I can remember— So remember to add on their superb #tofu 😉 This could have been a touch more flavoured though 🤏 Perhaps a bit more salt or acidity. Just slightly lacking 🤷‍♀️

I don’t know why they have this on the menu if they still ask you what vegetable you want 🧐 We opted for #bayam merah / xiancai 🥬 They cooked it with ginger 🫚 and carrots 🥕 and not much more — not that #redbayam needs it. The vegetable leaks a lot or flavour and “red” when cooked. Supposedly full of #antioxidants and cholesterol lowering goodness 🫀 RM16 for a rather generous serving of #organic vegetables sounds just about right ✌️ #veganuary #ilovevegetables #spinach

I would indeed trade my emerald for a #tofu this good, thanks for asking ⛏️ They seem to do this in-house because the #beancurd has bits of carrot 🥕 and what not in it 🏡 On top of it being #homemade everything here is #organic so you know your body is getting #nonasties ⚕️ I love this and can’t believe I don’t order it more often 😋 The price has also remained RM16 year-on-year unlike many omni establishments. Absolutely #bestpicks material! #veganuary #tofulover

Stealing a couple of @dafnelately 's lines cause I seriously haven't a clue how to review this dish made known to me for the very first time last year. This was watery, peppery + (gingery). For fillings they use #hericiummushroom and #beancurdskin / #fuchuk which together made a very interesting texture combo. Was told its a confinement meal and it sure as heck delivered its essence to every single pore on & in the body, warming the cockles of my womb (and more) as promised. Good thing I din develop a nosebleed from it 🤪 #kacangma (nutfree by default) #alliumfree Value 👉 RM10 (2023 pricing sans rice)

I don’t usually review beverages because I don’t believe it enriches the lives of anyone truly 🙄 I’ll make an exception for this to point out that they have #paperstraw on offer with their cold drinks 🙌 My first serving of #coffee was hot simply because! Then someone with us ordered a cold beverage and I was delightfully surprised 😇 I needed a second cup anyways 🤭 In fact I’ve seen this trend across several restaurants now and even in a kopitiam! Maybe there is hope after all 🤞 Oh, and the coffee tasted like coffee ☕️ No oil on the surface so it doesn’t seem to be butter roasted. I don’t think that’s a thing in East Malaysia anyways. #refusesingleuse #plasticisscary #veganuary

It looks like all these vegetarian shops have finally picked up on the fact that the only way to get an unconditionally glowing review is to serve me #kacangma 😛 I don’t believe there’s a bad way to make it! This was watery, peppery, and so so good 🤤 Purple rice too? I forgot how good it is to be home 🤗 For fillings they use #hericiummushroom and #beancurdskin / #fuchuk which together made a very interesting texture combo. It’s a great portion for RM13.50 and considering how it isn’t, not at least until recently, a thing you could find everywhere it’s definitely worth every buck! 🙌 #veganinkuching #veganuary
