Plant-based scallops!? My first time seeing this on a shelf and not having to make it myself (King oyster mushrooms ftw) 🙌🏼 I’m glad my non-vegan mom encouraged me to get them. I was tentative, as they are not cheap—but neither is seafood. (Pretty cool that you can get #veganseafood made from plants 🥔 —in this case mainly konjac.) The coating is nicely flavored, the exterior gets crisp on an oiled pan, and the inside has a firm texture with a good chew. My non-vegan dad said they were pretty good! Share with your local omnivore today.


Texture is great. The flavor of the scallops were really terrific but the outer layer was too spicy for me as I'm a wimp. I wish the left off the red pepper and then I could trade the actual scallop without burning my lips. I pan fried them in Earth Balance and to help decrease the burning spices I added lemon. Next time I make them ill scrape off much of the coating. I will buy again, for sure. I thought it was expensive but considering you get 27 scallops for $8.99 on sale, it was okay.
