Malt Loaf

I’ve loved malt loaf since being a child and I forget it is vegan. For me it’s a delicious tea time snack especially if you toast it and spread with plant based ‘butter’. The malt, syrup and raisins when heated becomes doubly chewy and that’s when my taste buds explode with delight. Malt is also nutritious. It is a great source of natural energy and a rich source of B vitamins, including thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, and vitamin b-6. Soreen pre sliced loaf. 180g egg free, milk free, dairyfree, sounds good to me. Low in fat 4% #Vegan friendly 43% less sugar to the usual cake. ingredients Fortified Wheat Flour (Wheat Flour, Calcium Carbonate, Iron, Niacin (B3), Thiamin (B1)), Water, Raisins (15%), Partially Inverted Sugar Syrup (Partially Inverted Sugar Syrup, Colour: E150c), Maize Starch, Malted Barley Flour (5%), Barley Malt Extract (4%), Vegetable Fats (Rapeseed, Palm), Rice Starch, Salt, Preservative: Calcium Propionate, Yeast These cakes are beautiful with #butter #flora #vitalite are great. They all ready sliced that saves time, they are a decent sliced. Great if your in a hurry. The cake is moist the fruits included are soft. And delighted I got them for a bargain as they were reduced. The plastic packaging will be taken to www.coop.co.uk for recycling. Or I can use them for the freezer to add bread / rolls for freezing. Looking at the ingredients there does seem to be lots of preservatives. This is an all-time favourite for me & a must when I come back to the UK. It doesn’t feel like a ‘legit’ plant-based review because it’s been a staple of my life since I’ve had teeth; Because you do need some teeth to chew through this loaf. It’s sticky, sweet, chewy & full of flavour. They have definitely gotten smaller in size - but gorgeous toasted with vegan butter. Have fun getting out of the toaster! 😂

I didn't really like it to be honest. A mixture of cake and bread.

This was delicious! Sweet, soft and really tasty with a nice berry flavour. Much better than what I expected from a packaged cake. Recommended.
