Gimme Lean Sausage

I’m spoiled with #beyondsausage it has the exact same flavor I remember from my pre vegan days … I mean #lightlife is good … but it just needs a little something extra … I’ll use this for #breakfast sandwiches… and maybe as a pizza topping… The texture is perfect … #vegansausage #veganbreakfast

i enjoy this product. i couldn’t take a picture of the package because i forgot and by the time i was going to do it i completely wrecked it while trying to get it open 😭 i really like the convenience of this packaged #vegangroundbeef . i was a little bit concerned that it wouldn’t hold its shape (i haven’t even used impossible or beyond- i’ve never made #burgers myself tbh) and was surprised to find that the #grounds stuck together very well and kept their shape when i formed them into #burgerpatties ! i was pretty enthused by this. i did season them but i felt like the grounds tasted pretty good. i only made burgers but i feel like this would make an excellent #sausage patty for a breakfast sandwich. i will say, i #grilled these and they definitely don’t generate the fat that meat does that prevents the burgers from sticking to the grill (which should be clear but i am an amateur griller at best🥲) and they were pretty sticky. just a note! they weren’t super “juicy”, but i also appreciated how they weren’t oily because the oil texture bothers me more than the lack of this. i still want to try some other brands but i’m pretty impressed with these and i’d purchase them again. #veganburger #lightlife #groundmeat

I love this stuff- it used to be my go to but my local Walmart stopped carrying it. Luckily I found it at #groceryoutlet for only $1.99! It cooks up nicely with a really nice meaty texture with lots of flavor. I was able to roll the sausage into links and bake them- they turned out great that way. Then I tried to use those links to make a pancake sausage on a stick but that failed miserably. I need more practice, LOL. I have another roll that I'll use to make biscuits and gravy and maybe try more pancake sausages. #groceryoutletfinds #veganbreakfast #kitchenexperiments

I picked this product up from Food Lion because of the great macros! For the low fat content, it has a surprisingly juicy and tender texture. The taste is very similar to real sausage, but more mild. I’d recommend adding a tad bit more salt, as the salt content added was awkward. The uncooked color was grey ish and unappealing. This was quickly solved with browning it, so the end presentation was perfectly fine. I made mangú with it, as pictured.

I mixed Lightlife sausage with impossible meat to make the filling for these potstickers. The darker part of the mix is the Lightlife. It’s really good - I don’t think the impossible meat part was really necessary!
