RECENSIONI PIÙ UTILI

One of the rules that we follow when abroad is to never go to Italian

restaurants. Mainly because I want to taste different food but also because they are usually not very “Italian “ or good. This time though we made an exception because this restaurant won twice in a row the prize as Best veggie restaurant in Austria. So we booked a table, got there and waited to be seated. At first they couldn’t find our reservation but then after a bit of coming and going of the waitress we were seated at a table. We ordered drinks, my husband ordered a glass of red wine and they arrived with a glass of white. So they changed it. I ordered a Polenta caponata as a starter and rigatoni alla carbonara as a main, although I kind of regretted it immediately after, but I didn’t want to change the order considering the mishap with the booking and the wine. The polenta caponata was quite good, although a bit on the sweet side, it wasn’t like any caponata I had before but I liked it. My husband had a panzerotto as a starter and that was really good. The dough soft and chewy and the mozzarella and tomato sauce very nicely done. It took them about half an hour to bring us the starters but after that almost 1 hour to bring us the mains. By that time I was already quite pissed off and not very hungry anymore. The rigatoni carbonara was a mistake, as I thought. Never mind that carbonara is usually made with spaghetti, the rigatoni were swimming in a liquid cashew sauce, the “pancetta “ bits were non existent and the taste was quite bland. My husband had Gnocchi with mushrooms and truffle sauce.: 17€ for a dish of store bought gnocchi with some champignons and a few drops of truffle oil. We didn’t bother to get a dessert. We ate in quite a lot of wonderful restaurants in Austria and frankly I don’t understand how this got to be the best one in the country. It wasn’t bad but it was just “meh” and overpriced
