this one was probably my least favorite out of the empanadas i tried here. it was a bit dry, and i didn’t find the flavor particularly impactful or memorable. i feel like it may have been a little underseasoned? not sure. i think it is supposed to be spicy as well, but i wasn’t able to pick up on it. given that, it definitely wasn’t bad, and i still enjoyed eating it. just a little overpriced for how much i ended up liking it. #empanadas #empanada #veganempanada #chicago #veganchicago #veganinillinois #jackfruit

This is another empanada marked as spicy. It has slow-simmered onions and jackfruit in a chipotle and garlic sauce. The dough gets its nice sunflower yellow color from carrots! This empanada was really flavorful. I think the cashier said that this was one of their most popular flavors. I see why!
