Finally made it over to Houlden’s Rise Above a completely dedicated vegan bakery here in Tucson. I can’t say enough about how much I appreciate this special little place! The love and passion put into everything the owners do here (a wife & husband team) is truly inspirational.
When you walk in you are greeted with big smiles and a very cool ‘Animal Liberation’ glowing neon on the wall.
Scratch made, Local perfection.
The balance of tart and sweet was right on point. “Croissant dough swirled into a muffin tin, baked, then rolled in sugar, filled with lemon curd and strawberry jam.” (from the website.) Light & flaky on the outside-soft layers on the inside.
Absolutely worth the wait in line❣️ Get there early-They are open until sold out and it’s inevitable❣️
Everyone in line was so excited to be there for amazing vegan pastries. ❤️
Preorder Boxes are currently available on their website so it is possible to skip the line but it was way too difficult for me not to want to add a couple of things from the case on to my order!
