It’s a chilled no frills place that serves comfort food. First time I see a vegan used rojak!
The top bits were exactly the same as the tauhu bakar. Bottom half consist of guava and turnips and also one or two pieces of pineapple. The rojak sauce was nice, not as sweet as the regular ones. Overall a nice salad on a hot day. Small portion for $5.90.
This rojak was an acquired taste but it definitely grew on me. The youtiao was crunchy but thick and a bit hard (like it was overfried or overbaked?) and sweet but the acidic mango, guava etc balanced the youtiao so well - not sure if the owner deliberately used underripe fruits? Thought that was brilliant. Lastly, I would like a lot more crunchy peanuts in the dressing. Still worth a try overall!!
Best rojak I had in a long time. It had (unripe) mangoes, guava, apples, jambu, cucumbers and ultra crispy youtiao. The rojak sauce was not the usual ones I ate before, and also not too much, just right, which was great. The sourness of the mangoes made the dish very appetising
