I reconnected with one of my favourite people after a year last night! 🤩 In honour of him, I’m continuing my holiday hiatus of reviews with one of this amazing #laksa my friends and I decided to #abillionhacks on our KL trip some months ago #throwback 😋 I’m not huge on #noodles with broth unless it’s thick or flavourful enough and even the best #veganlaksa doesn’t cut it for me. Ethan on the other hand is a MAJOR laksa goth and he has, and I quote, “tried every type of laksa except Kelantan laksa” 🤯 This one is a little different, cooked in a #coconut based #nonya broth so it’s a little different to any laksa I’ve ever had; Coming from Sarawak and spending the last 5 years in Penang then relocating to Singapore for quite the range in laksa interpretations 😙 It kind of reminds of #penanglaksa with the inclusion of bunga kantan, minus the mint leaves of course. Appropriately #veganized to make it to their animal-friendly menu crispy #fuchuk and #tofu puffs stand in place to the usual inclusion of prawn / shrimp 🦐 Also in the mildly #spicy slurry that coats their #ricevermicelli was #beansprouts over the much less desired #taugeh & oddly enough, #eggplant 🍆 It still hasn’t convinced me to join #teamlaksa but at least in honour of my most favourite of peoples, I may have it a little more 🤭 Happy #yule and a merry new years up ahead, @abillion10 family! 🎉
So delicious, I always love laksa and this one was no exception! I found it impossible to eat it all!
Really good option, generous portions of everything from the aubergine to the bunga kantan, the tofu puffs to the fuchuk. The broth was rich and creamy, coconut milk as the base. As good as nyonya can get. #laksa
