How did I just discover Ike’s?! I’ve been visiting San Diego for years and now I’m bummed I missed out on their sandwiches for all that time. I had a really hard deciding due to their massive menu, but went with this one which had vegan fried chicken, yellow bbq sauce, cheddar, dirty sauce, lettuce, tomato, on their Dutch Crunch bread (ask them to veganize it with vegan cheese & dirty sauce). I also added pickles and got more dirty sauce on the side! 😛 The bread and flavors were amazing. The chicken was lacking, it seemed like a Gardein frozen cutlet which I wish had been thicker. But still a fantastic option from a non-vegan chain! #sandwich #vegansandwich #veganchicken

Ike's is great because a nice selection of sandwiches can be veganized with plant based meat and cheese. There is a vegan version of their signature "Dirty" sauce as well. Very filling and served hot. This sandwich had a a sweet yellow bbq sauce, vegan fried chicken, lettuce, tomatoe and I added the optional pickles. Bread is automatically dairy free which is nice. Pic shows 1/2 the sandwich since I already devoured half.
