Your visit to Sorano would be worth it just if you order this dish: at the beginning of the dinner they will bring to your table a big stone stove with a square container on top of it, they will tell you not to touch it because it’s hot, you will go on with your dinner tasting the amazing dishes that you ordered while the organic soy milk cookes into tofu and at the end of your dinner you will finally taste it.
For me it was the most amazing tofu texture I have ever experienced, it really does melt in your mouth like they say on the menu. It’s also accompanied with some salt, lime and sauce if you want to add some extra flavor. You can order this for 2 or 3 people, we ordered the 2-people portion which costed 1,320 ¥.
I’m also adding some pictures of the venue to show how lovely it was: really nice Japanese style ambient. The vegan dishes are all pretty cheap but they are small portions: make sure to order enough and try as many things as possible because for me it was all worth it!
