
Is it vegan? Is it not? This dish lead to confusion. It’s not on their vegan menu, but there are reviews here on abillion - so I asked in the restaurant. Server A said: not vegan. Server B said: vegan. Since this was the dish I really wanted to try, I risked it and ordered. Afterwards I reported this incident to abillion, they contacted the restaurant and the email said it’s vegan. 🌱 so let’s hope it is. The texture of the mushroom is perfectly meaty and was the highlight of the meal. The black pepper sauce with it tastes boring and afterwards I realized that I probably have the same sauce in my fridge lol. Bought at lotus for RM5 per 400ml. There was a tiny amount of mashed potatoes with this dish, which were overly salty and had chunks inside. I prefer my mashed potatoes smooth. One piece of broccoli was with it as well - overcooked. What’s that thing on top you ask? Fried pasta. Tasted gross (or like nothing) and was only for presentation. I didn’t love it here honestly. Service was lacking for the price paid, food was average in taste but looked pretty.
This looked really cool but it wasn’t my thing. The black pepper sauce was nice, mushroom was good but it didn’t pack a punch for me. The fried pasta on top was so so too
Love the juicy mushroom but the black pepper sauce didn’t blow me away. The enoki mushrooms were too greasy (+ bottom bunch wasn’t exactly “cooked?”) Overall the dish was alright but preferred the risotto which was also more filling.
This was the star of the show today! That presentation and the taste of everything was solid! The stone holding the leaf at the bottom stayed hot throughout and that black pepper sauce was such a great complement to the dish! It’s art at its finest! 💋
This is the highlight dish of the day for me. The monkey head shroom steak was so soft and tender, plus the sauce was very rich and flavorful. The presentation was also very creative and unique. Love how they were served hot and continue to stay warm due to the hot stone at the bottom.
